The church warden kindly opened up for me to look inside. He explained that this is a Victorian church which has suffered from subsidence. A plaque on the outside explains that it is now cared for by The Churches Conservation Trust. Although no longer needed for regular worship, it remains a consecrated building, a part of England's history, maintained for the benefit of this and future generations.
