The Macmillan Way long distance path passes several large piles of stones at the rear of the garages next to Long Compton village hall. These three relate to 'worthies of Nelson and Colne in Lancashire. Were the stones ever laid? If so why were they removed? Was there a spelling mistake noticed and the stones discarded? What are they doing in Long Compton which is a very long way from Lancashire? How did they get here?
