This is called the Guildhall, although it was never used as such. It has been a town hall though. It was built in 1873 by architects Geoffrey and Skiller of Hastings, in the Gothic Revival style, and modelled on the town halls of Ypres and Brugge in Belgium. This is the view looking east from the end of the High Street.
