This post office opened on 1 February 1893, called Queen's Cross. It was replaced by the Broad Street office, very nearby, on 1 October 1897 but that latter branch was replaced by Priory Road on 1 December 1902 which thus saw it return to its original premises. The office was a victim of the nationwide cull of 2,500 branches in 2007-08 and finally closed on 8 July 2008. When the signage was removed, paintwork spelling out the original Queen's Cross branch name- see Image
