Yes, it is possible to see Canary Wharf from Queen Mary! If you walk down to the GER bridge and look south-southeast back down the Regents Canal towards the locks and Mile End Road, you can't miss it! You can also see it from the main drive leading to the East Gate (main Mile End Road entrance), but the view is quite obscured! The turquoise building to the right is one of the halls of residence. Note the barge - it's been there for a few days now and hasn't moved since! The owners have obviously set up a base camp there for a while, or perhaps they're just waiting for the lock to open.
