The oldest building in this square has a history. In the 1870s it was known as Hills Barn and was part of a dairy farm, by 1911 it had become part of Preston Farm and in the 1920s had become Holes Dairy. It remained a local dairy until the 1960s when it was purchased by Unigate who retained ownership until their milk delivery business was purchased by Dairy Crest in 1999 who remain owners today and still use it as a depot for their milk delivery vans.
