Another view of Image; the terrace of six brick cottages are part of Holdenhurst Village West Conservation Area. They are dated 1867. The gas lamp mentioned by Chris is one of 28 in Holdenhurst and Throop which are listed, with the following description: "Installed 1902 to 1910. Made by the Ringwood and Pokesdown Foundries, the lanterns supplied by Suggs. Cast-iron and with wrought-iron lanterns. Various designs, with reeded or plain shafts and pedestals, most of which have wavey friezes; ladder bars and lanterns on wrought-iron scroll supports and finials on top. They have individual governor boxes. Still in use as gas lamps. The lamps were installed for the parish by the electricity company converting gas lamps in Bournemouth to electricity. Information supplied by Bournemouth Borough Council" http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=352106 .
