The part of Plumpton parish where Plumpton Lane which runs north-south between Plumpton and Plumpton Green crosses an old east-west route which never made the grade for public motor vehicles but remains in use as bridleways and private vehicular access. This part is Ashurst Lane which heads west to Streat, whilst the track eastwards takes you to East Chiltington church and village. Ashurst Cottages are on the left. It is also sometimes known as Green Cross.
