It is sometimes difficult to say where one wood ends and the next one begins, but if one takes the parish boundary as a guide the wood to the right of the photographer is Pavis Wood and the one to the left is Northhill Wood. Straight ahead the footpath continues towards Spencer's Green Farm. These are crossed by a bridleway which runs along the north edge of the woods at the bottom of the Chiltern scarp slope.
