This is a picturesque small village which lies on the Main Road between Thornhill and Moniaive. It is most well known as the birthplace of the famous Explorer and Writer Joseph Thomson who carried out numerous Expeditions in Africa and was the first person to spot "Thomson's Gazelle" to which he gave his name.
