One of the many large mansions which you will find in the area around Biggar. Perhaps Mr Lindsay was one of the many wealthy merchants or businessmen from Glasgow or Edinburgh who bought an estate here. Perhaps he was a local farmer. The farm to the west and the hill behind bear the same name.
