Maybe not, but plans have been approved to build a new road and housing for a proposed Defence Training Academy in these fields. The nearby airfield, previously an RAF base (St Athan), extends over 1,000 acres yet has no room for the houses. Despite the fact that the base has been served for more than 70 years by existing roads the new access road is considered essential!
