Driving up the Sutton Road from Preston one reaches a signpost at a junction - Plaisters Lane to the left which eventually reaches the Coombe Valley Road and the downs; and, the continuation of Sutton Road to the right which leads to the Springhead and on to White Horse Lane and Whittington Avenue.
