Plaques on Barclays Bank in Bala commemorating Mari Jones. This building was formerly the house of Thomas Charles, one of the founders of the British and Foreign Bible Society - its aim was to supply bibles. Mari Jones, aged 15, walked 25 miles from Llanycil to Bala, bare footed, in order to get one of his bibles.
