Polnoon Street viewed from Gilmour Street http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1484265 . The buildings on the corner at Eglinton Place with Polnoon Street once contained ground floor shops before being converted back to private residences. Eaglesham Cafe and A & J Smith Tobacconists had the corner shop. Next door was Kirkland who sold ices and confectionery. Later the shops were occupied by the Co-Operative.
