The picture in itself is not special, but it is taken from the end of the pier a couple of weeks before the end was closed. Within a year or so the whole pier had gone the same way. It does not look like opening too, needing a great deal of money to reopen. The pier was quite odd really, with a long parade of interior shops that might have been anywhere. I met a lone fisherman at the end of the pier. He'd caught nothing.
