When I first saw it, this Red Admiral was flapping around furiously on the ground. There appeared to be something attached to it which I thought might be a spider, but it was not possible to distinguish it. When it finally stopped moving, I could see that it was the victim of a wasp. I have always associated wasps with being scavengers rather than predators but according to various websites they do prey on other insects.
