Wonderful example of a cleared area within deciduous and conifer mixed woodland. The shrubs and trees around the boundary shelter a prodigious amount of birds and insects - Orange Tip butterflies in spring and four or five species of dragonfly, whose newly-emerged tenerals rest in the sunlight to dry their wings...
