Also known as Petre Bank, or Pear Tree Bank, named after the large sandbanks behind them which were removed in the late nineteenth century. Consists of 14 grade II listed terraced cottages, (extensively refurbished), dated 1815, in white-washed brick, built for the 7th Viscount Bulkeley, who wished to provide decent housing for the local miners. (Left hand view of the row, difficult to photograph due to foliage).
