Built on the site of the demolished Barn Bridge. This is an example of how to spend £2M on a very expensive solution where a simple 'off the shelf' footbridge design would have worked just as well. I think that the money would have been better spent on buying a strip of land to link the bridge directly to the High Street instead of onto the towpath.
