For most of its route, the Midland Metro Birmingham - Wolverhampton service runs along the alignment of a former railway line. Along this section it mainly uses rails attached to sleepers, as can be seen in this view. Shortly after passing this point the trams run in the road, mixing with other road traffic. Image
