A former farmhouse, "dated 1690 but apparently earlier core", seen from the same point as Image http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=94597 . The tiny hamlet of Stiniel "is first recorded in 1224 as Stennenhalle which means hall of stone".
