Looking like old railway level crossing gates, and indeed they may well be, these mark the entrance to the Colne Valley Railway http://www.colnevalleyrailway.co.uk/?ID=1 off the A1017 road. Judging by the skid marks it would appear that a previous visitor was in a desperate almighty rush to view the assembled railway rolling stock only to be disappointed by the gates being closed...
