Small area of common wedged in by the railway, the B2112 and B2113. You can just about make out a small rise behind the trees, this is a huge spoil bank left behind by the navvies when they built the Lewes-Keymer Junction railway. The bank was visible for a long period of time from the road and was home to a giant crucifix belonging to the nearby Guild of St Joseph and St Dominic, a Catholic artistic community established by Eric Gill.
