This is the junction with North Street on the left and the road to the former Butt End Mills on the right. When the Ledgard Colliery was operating in the 19C, there was a tramway across Chadwick Lane here. It then crossed the tail-race of the mill by a bridge and went along the riverside to a coal staith just above the weir.
