On Snugville Street. The term 'bru' for a Jobcentre is very much unique to Belfast - particularly the west of the city. It derives from the days when an Employment Exchange was known as a 'bureau' - 'bru' being a comical mispronunciation of the word. The term was popularised in a BBC comedy series by James Young in the 1970s ("Our Jimmie").
