The conventional 2000 MW coal fired power station as opposed to the smaller gas fired CCGT (combined cycle gas turbine) plant. Photographed from a layby on the A34. My initial thought was that these were lousy photographs but they have a certain charm and I have not manipulated. The date is approximate. This coal burning power station closed in March 2013 as a result of the EU Large Combustion Plant Directive.
