Also known as Lawrence Castle, and built in 1788 by Sir Robert Palk to commemorate General Stringer Lawrence. The triangular tower is a major landmark in South Devon, visible for miles (eg Image and Image ), and more visible since being restored and painted some years ago. View from the east.
