Brunel's SS Great Eastern (also known as Leviathan) suffered a disastrous explosion in a funnel casing while on trial. She put in to Weymouth for repairs and part of the funnel became a filter in a reservoir at Sutton Poyntz. This is it following withdrawal from service. It is now down in Bristol with Brunel's SS Great Britain. An amazing and relatively little known survivor (while at Sutton Poyntz).
