Rear view of almshouses owned by the Royal Cottage Homes for Watermen a charity providing homes for retired watermen and lightermen of the River Thames. Unfortunately, this is the rear view as the more impressive front facade is currently blocked by a series of fences at the southern gate. The homes were built in 1888 having been a gift from a former master lighterman, William Vokins.
