The reinforced concrete structure being built in the foreground was to become a subway, after the motorway had been embanked here. Geotextile sheeting was being used to stabilise the fill. Ashford Golf Course is at right, and Sandyhurst Lane crosses on the horizon. (date somewhat uncertain)
