Looking from the railway bridge across the newly made cutting at one of the houses in Sandyhurst Lane (L) and the golf club house (R). The green machine is a Terex motor scraper, possibly type TS18. It is powered at both ends and has a bucket between which can be lowered to a precise height to scrape off and cart away as much of the surface as it can manage. (date somewhat uncertain)
