Restaurant and Pub. First class fish 'n' chips. Reputedly best in Edinburgh. Anstruther (pronounced "ainster") or Berwick might be too far to find better. Perched by the side of the road, Ye Olde Peacock Inn had a "whale" of a time fighting off fierce competition from Harry Ramsden's "plaice" just across the road. Got a bit of a battering but, for about 6-7 years, it soldiered on. Harry's unfortunately "floundered" and is sadly no more in Newhaven. It's demise? Only an opinion but I blame it's refusal to take plastic over the counter...it was "COD" only. It tipped the scales. It has "had" its days by the "dock"! arf. Well done to the Peacock.
