Built around 1750 as a Folly by a prominent land-owner John Winter to compete with his neighbour, the owner of the - actually more prominent - Willet Tower, it is constructed of red sandstone and rendered. This detail is taken from the Tower website : http://www.combewoodtower.co.uk/
