This mini roundabout is still there, where the sea front comes to a dead end at the Spa Pavilion theatre. Today the beach is narrow and stony. Memory says the beach at that time was wide and sandy, but the photo says otherwise. The specially built autotest car seems to be suffering severe understeer. I believe the driver is the wife of the owner, the person who ran the garage in Kelsale, Suffolk.
