This plant produces copious amounts of nectar and is thought to draw pollinating insects in preference to native plants. This reduces pollination of the naturally occurring plantlife thereby adding to the problems the plant causes. But who could begrudge long suffering bees the opportunity to feed in the dismal weather of the summer of 2009?
