Queen Elizabeth's School Wimborne Minster (locally known as "QE") was founded in 1487 in the centre of the town and was moved up the hill in the 1960s. Dorset County Council have recently announced that the school will be rebuilt as a School of the Future and the new buildings should be complete in 2009.
