Benfleet Creek and Canvey Island

A view across Benfleet Creek towards Canvey Island before the new road and barrier was built. It was probably taken in the 1970s. At that time there were a number of old houseboats 'moored' at the edge of the saltings. There are two Thames barges visible in the middle distance.
