This postbox is in the wall of the town's main post office. The two sides were once for different kinds of mail – perhaps first and second, or stamped and franked, but the label has been changed so that any items can go in either slot. The box is emptied finally at 6pm on weekdays and at 12:30pm on Saturdays. A site visitor has contacted me to confirm the previous distinction between the two halves of the box: the left-hand slot was for Wareham addresses and the right-hand slot was for other items.
