Designed in 1840 by James Wild, Christ Church is an architectural landmark. The details are simple and clear, arguably prefiguring modernism by almost 100 years. It is built of stock brick with striking use of polychromy, and an imposing campanile. Grade I listed. Attempting to snap buildings such as this is a constant reminder of the extent to which signage and general street clutter have proliferated over the years. It is like a visual assault, and results in one having to weigh up one large-ish road sign and a streetlamp against two no-entry signs, equations which are not amenable to standard mathematical techniques. I'm still not sure I arrived at the right answer here.
