View south-west along the railway line. Spooner Row railway station is served by local services operated by National Express East Anglia railway on the Breckland Line running from Norwich - Ely - Cambridge. The original station buildings were destroyed by fire in the 1970s and a shelter has been erected for passengers on each platform. The signal box > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1412121 still stands in its original place beside the crossing gates on Station Road - it is manned by a signalman who manually closes and opens the crossing gates. Update - January 2015: This signal box was recently decommissioned, as almost all of the signal boxes on the line are in the process of being removed.
