In 1966 the Belfast (Queen’s Quay) – Bangor line was converted to automatic banner signals Image controlled remotely from Belfast. The old Belfast and County Down Railway (BCDR) signal cabin (down platform) remained and was gradually reclaimed by nature. Another BCDR feature (now gone) is the wooden fence.
