Trans-Pennine Trail NW of Wombwell

Here the Trail runs in tandem with the more local Dove Valley Trail. The flowers on the fine blackthorn hedge on the left were in bud, and this site could be well worth exploring in the autumn, in anticipation of supplies for sloe gin.
