This ancient building is a 15th century coaching inn. Today it still offers accommodation, as well as a real ale bar and a restaurant, both open to non-residents. Like many buildings of its age, it also offers what its website describes as a "ghostly vision" called Elizabeth. Quite recently the inn was known as The Old White Lion Inn, but the "Old" seems to have been dropped, although the signs outside still use the word. The bracket outside, which used to hold the inn sign, is empty so perhaps a new one has been commissioned. http://www.theoldwhitelion.com/
