This signpost retains the original finial, which gives location and grid reference details. Unusually (though not uniquely) for Dorset, the fingers are of metal rather than wooden. The name Childe Okeford is these days written without the 'e' in Childe. In fact, apart from here and on another similar post, I don't believe I have ever seen it as Childe.
