On the coastal path from Whitehead to the Black Head lighthouse Image, Sunshine House opened in 1901 as a temperance hotel and tearoom. A contemporary source describes it as “surrounded by a charming amphitheatre of bold headlands which form a shelter”. An old photograph shows the first floor in the mock Tudor style. See also Image
