Viewed from southern end in North St New Road has recently become a shared space, pavements have been removed and pedestrians are able to stroll along the road which also has a variety of restaurants with al fresco eating arrangements, however the original decision to bar cars was overturned and has created controversy particularly for guide dog owners relying on pavements and without the benefit of eye contact with drivers
