Sheffield Manor Lodge was home to the Shrewsbury family. It was here that Mary Queen of Scots was held captive on the orders of Elizabeth I. The Lodge is in ruins with only the Turret House standing intact. Image See here for a picture of the Discovery Centre in 2011. Image
