This sign needs to be read in conjunction with this one facing the other way Image Heading this way one has just driven through a 6' 6" width restriction. So this sign applies if you are wider than 6' (but by implication narrower than 6' 6"). Therefore it must apply to very few vehicles. The anomaly can be explained by this being an older sign where 6' was the recognised restriction, whereas 6'6" is today's norm.
