The Rt. Worshipful the Mayor of Wakefield, Cllr. Jacqui Williams, was in attendance to launch the official 'opening' celebration of the Pit Winding Wheel on Ridings Way / Colliery Approach on Saturday, 21st March 2009. It has been placed as a reminder that the colliery once existed here. See Image
